Purpose of the Job
Due to continued growth within the HH Global group, a new position for a Group Financial Accountant has been created in the Group Finance team, reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the consolidation of a $2bn global group with over 120 subsidiaries for monthly and annual results
- Review of monthly submissions from markets, raising queries and ensuring issues are resolved on a timely basis where necessary
- Generating and posting monthly consolidation and elimination journals for the group
- Leading the intercompany reconciliation and review process across the group on a monthly basis
- Coordinating the collection, review, consolidation and reporting of the group’s sustainability data, including quarterly carbon reporting in conjunction with our external advisors
- Supporting the preparation of consolidated group and individual corporate entity annual financial statements (all currently prepared under FRS 102)
- Working with our external auditors and supporting the audit process across the global group
- Supporting the implementation of new accounting policies and standards in the group, including upcoming revised revenue and leasing standards under UK GAAP
- Providing Group Finance support to all remaining legal entity rationalisation activity
- Acting as a trusted point of contact in finance for technical accounting + system-related queries
- Engaging with Group Tax, Treasury, Financial Systems, Legal + Internal Audit teams as required
- Supporting continuous improvement across processes, controls, statutory reporting and application of accounting standards
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
- ACA qualified with first time passes
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (including working experience of IFRS 15 + 16 and/or revised UK GAAP revenue and leasing standards)
- Experience of multi-currency financial consolidations
- Strong excel skills
- Ability to multitask and work to tight timelines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to engage with a geographically and culturally diverse set of stakeholders
- Analytical mindset
- Self-motivated and dependable
