Director, Strategic Procurement (Global)
THE ROLE
The Director, Strategic Procurement (Global) is a critical leadership position with significant growth potential. This role requires expertise in plant purchasing, supply chain management, negotiation, and planning within a global manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must have at least 15 years of manufacturing experience, 10 of which must be global. Strong bilingual capabilities are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Sourcing Strategy: Define and execute a procurement strategy that reduces costs, optimizes supplier relationships, and ensures supply chain resilience.
- Supplier Management: Negotiate contracts, oversee performance metrics, and drive supplier consolidation.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop procurement best practices, improve cost structures, and integrate digital tools for analytics-driven decision-making.
- Risk Mitigation: Monitor global supply chain risks, regulatory impacts, and implement contingency plans.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align procurement with business objectives.
- Leadership Growth: Develop executive-level decision-making skills and lead global initiatives to drive business success.
Deliverables Timeline:
- 6 Months: Demonstrate learning and understanding of Isola business, products and how it relates to Direct Material Sourcing strategy. Global Category - Supplier Strategy document with top 3 projects to execute to achieve - timeline and business results (two categories). This is developed utilizing available spend data, supply market assessment and benchmarking to identify opportunities for continuous improvement projects pipeline for 2026 results execution.
- 12 Months: Able to articulate and communicate global and regional strategy with top project execution for specific categories prioritized. Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional coordination to achieve results in terms of business plan results – Net cost savings, alternate sources, and risk mitigation, working capital contribution from favorable terms and consignment programs, new technology or supplier development.
- 18 Months: Demonstrated readiness to grow into broader responsibilities related to end-to-end supply chain leadership development. i.e. Global logistics, S&OP and Supply planning utilizing ERP systems and business process improvements.
Typical Annual KPI measures for the role:
- Direct Material Annualized Cost savings (net of any increases),
- Project execution to operating plan results (including risk mitigation from supply / demand market dynamics, geopolitical risks, global logistics)
- Strategic Supplier performance improvement (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Service flexibility and Technology engagements).
- Supplier Compliance and Contract Agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years in manufacturing supply chain roles, with at least 10 years in global procurement.
- Industry expertise in laminate or semiconductor manufacturing required.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and project execution experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Fluent in English; bilingual capability (Mandarin) strongly preferred.
- Up to 20% international travel required.
