Senior 3D Designer

Purpose of the role

A multifaceted role within the Retail + CX team of a multinational technology company.  As the Senior Designer you will immerse yourself in the client’s global brand identity, and provide expertise in aligning creative, design + production capability in their retail fixture and CX strategy. You will work closely with our Design Lead to bring new fixture concepts to life - taking a fixture from schematic design and work with production managers to successfully see it through production.  Similarly, you will be tasked to adapt existing retail fixtures, again working with production managers to deliver a more cost efficient solution.  

You will also work with our client’s in-country teams to develop 3D rendering and fixture drawings for retailer sell-in, develop fixture planograms in line with global planogram guidelines, integrate product demo/security, and create graphics (attract / commit / pricing / promos) as needed.  You will work closely with regional production teams to ensure high levels of execution, and play a key role in spotting, rectifying and eliminating production flaws. In this position you will have a comprehensive view of all design projects in the EMEA region, and will be trusted to ensure design consistency across all projects. Another key aspect of this role is to work with client stakeholders, internal project managers, and third party agencies to prioritise the extensive scope of work, and help manage expectations across the board. This position is a 1 year fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design/creative lead in assessing the viability of fixture requests in line with client brand guidelines and production capabilities

• Support and advise on adaptation of fixtures to meet the needs of regional retailers and ensuring client brand consistency

• Ensure fixture designs support business and product experience goals (i.e. products/product combinations or demos)

• Work in close collaboration with the Production and GTM teams to create renderings and drawing assets for design review and to sell in designs with the retailer

• Develop dimensional schematic drawings and material specifications

• Review production engineering drawings from the regional production team

• Review production prototypes to provide quality assessment of the fixture and meet brand, material and production standards.

• Create shop-in-shop and pop up designs

• 2D graphic concepting - store experience design, seasonal campaign design, brand guidelines 

• Work with GTM to develop planograms for regional fixtures inline with global planogram guidelines

• Provide clear + comprehensive briefs to 3rd party agencies

• Work with project managers and 3rd party agencies to manage workflow prioritisation, and client expectations.

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

• BA/BSc in Retail Design, Graphic Design, Interior design / Architecture or related field of study

• Substantial experience in retail fixture design and retail CX design

• Presentation skills and pitch deck design

• Ability to develop dimensionally accurate schematic drawings to feed into the regional production engineering team

• Proven ability to perform and apply design skills to create bespoke graphics, digital and print campaigns

• Solid understanding of materials and production processes

• Demonstrate an understanding of the customer journey across retail channels: from digital to physical presence

• Keen eye for detail

• Experience with fixture engineering drawings is preferred

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and with many cross functional teams

• Software experience required: Sketchup Pro (preferred) 3D modelling: Cinema 4D, Vray 

• CAD drawing: Autocad, vectorworks. Adobe: Photoshop, Illustrator. Digital skills is preferred
