Purpose of the job

 

As a Technical Project Buyer, you will actively work on and be responsible for the execution of Permanent Point of Sale and Retail fixtures + fittings per client brief. This role is specific to one of our biggest clients.

Research into potential new suppliers globally, product innovation, and market intelligence as we expand out our global reach is paramount. Know your supply partners capabilities well.

You will work with relevant stakeholders ensuring effective handovers, supplier engagement and involvement of the appropriate parties as part of project implementations.

This role reports into the Senior European Project Buyer with a dotted line to Regional Strategic Sourcing for Permanent Point of Sale + Retail.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Financial

  • Adding true value to projects, challenging the norms to ensure growth within the category.
  • You are accountable for contractually compliant pricing and guaranteed execution at the highest levels.
  • Involving analytics in tenders and complex RFQ’s
  • Reviewing the results in consultation with the team, proposing the BEST-IN-CLASS solution.
  • Work with HH Global account teams to ensure that savings targets are met or exceeded for the account
  • Meeting or exceeding the category KPI’s

 

Operational 

  • Working with client engagement, design and engineering teams to ensure we have all the technical drawings and BOM. per project and a clear brief, timings, locations, exports globally etc.
  • Ensure best in class prices and supply chain suitable for each project, aligning the strategy.
  • Compiling of the RFQ documents for tenders, sending out to suppliers and liaising with them on the details.
  • Work with analytics to collate, aggregate and present the outcome of the tender with recommendations.
  • Use the best supplier / best price/ best logistics route, with freight / duties and tariffs globally.
  • Ensure Client Engagement have all the necessary information to present to client and confirm any final adjustments + subsequent cost changes if applicable.
  • Produce Critical Path Agreements, confirm tooling contracts, and ensure client engagement communicate clearly to manage client expectations.
  • Manage the project execution through prototyping and signoff for production.
  • There after - hand over to client engagement Job Managers for PO’s, execution of production, freight, warehousing etc.
  • Handover all technical aspects of each project including the Quality control documentation, to the QC team /suppliers.
  • Move production of products and services from incumbent suppliers to new vendors, when and where appropriate.
  • Ensuring we follow the agreed strategy of One Way of working globally.
  • Supplier Management - Develop and sustain excellent relationships with all suppliers, liaison between different material suppliers for cross production checks.
  • Ensure goal tracking and achievement of SLAs and KPIs is consistent with client standards and contractual requirements and internal KPIs related to operational efficiency.

 

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

 

  • An experienced professional with good commercial experience in Permanent Display + Retail.
  • The ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Experience of business process re-engineering and procurement outsourcing
  • Demonstrate highly developed relationship management skills and develop excellent client team relationships
  • Ability to constructively challenge client facing teams regarding their requirements where appropriate and have the influencing skills to have an impact at senior levels
  • Project management skills – organizational and planning abilities in combination with time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Is professional, courteous and calm under pressure.
  • Process driven, with an eye to sales and business development
  • Fluent in English. Any other European language is a plus
  • Experience in Permanent POS is mandatory.
  • Previous technical experience in manufacturing permanent POS materials and engaging with printing techniques daily is mandatory.
  • Economy education is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for both personal and written interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Drive for development and self-improvement
  • Advanced level of MS Office (MS Excel is a must)
  • Experience in a client facing role and being able to prove business growth is essential.
