Summary of Position
The Supply Chain – New Product Introduction (NPI) Co-Op role at Singer Vehicle Design provides a hands-on, project-based learning experience focused on supporting the development of new vehicle programs. The Co-Op will contribute to the improvement of supply chain processes by supporting procurement, vendor management, cost analysis, and program execution through data-driven decision-making. Working directly with the NPI and broader supply chain teams, the student will be exposed to multiple departments and will have the opportunity to complete 1–2 impactful projects aligned with key operational goals. This role is ideal for a student with a passion for automotive innovation, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Co-op program runs from June 2- August 15 in Torrance, CA and is full-time during that period. Must be currently enrolled in a college program in a relevant field to be considered.
Essential Duties
- Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) support by tracking parts, components, and timelines tied to upcoming vehicle builds and variants.
- Analyze procurement and BOM data to identify trends, costs, and optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives, including vendor sourcing research, data collection, and dashboard development.
- Support the development of project dashboards, supply chain metrics, and internal reports to improve visibility and accountability.
- Participate in key meetings with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supplier quality, to observe and support NPI workflows.
- Own and execute 1–2 individual projects tied to department initiatives (e.g., smaller variant program support, data visualization for NPI, new tool/process trial).
- Create and maintain project documentation, including risk registers, stakeholder updates, timelines, and final report-outs.
- Deliver an end-of-term presentation to share results, insights, and hand off ongoing responsibilities or action items to the team.
- Gain a broad understanding of how supply chain operations intersect with engineering, operations, and design.

Compensation
The starting pay for this position is $22/hr. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
