Infrastructure Engineer
Due to continued success and growth, Acorn Insurance are currently recruiting for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join our developing IT Team.
This is an exciting time to join Acorn Insurance- as an Infrastructure Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the wider technical teams as well as stakeholders around the business to continue the enhancement of technology which would benefit throughout the group.
Role: Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Liverpool/ Hybrid
Working hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 17:30pm on a four-week rolling rota
Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE
What you will be doing:
- Provide 3rd Line BAU technical support to the business and Desktop support function and escalated tickets.
- Work with the Senior Infrastructure Engineers, Project team and external technical resource, providing technical expertise to support secure, scalable, and performant Infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in the design, deployment, and implementation of the infrastructure technologies.
- Perform technical evaluation of products within the infrastructure domain.
- Work closely with the Senior Infrastructure Engineers and peers to deliver cost effective solutions in line with the IT strategy & roadmap whilst implementing appropriate control mechanisms.
- Be continually aware of enhancements available within the current infrastructure solutions as well as any shifts in technology and enhancements that would benefit the business
- Work with SecOps performing vulnerability remediation actions and updates, and audit processes.
- Keep abreast of known and emerging Infrastructure technologies, trends and tools.
- Work with InfoSec and DPA function, with all audit process and requests, and following incident response processes
What we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role in a similar sized organisation, across a broad variety of infrastructure disciplines and technologies, supported by a background in IT support
- Previous involvement in the implementation of infrastructure solutions
- Experience of working on multi-tier, high volume, transactional system platforms and an understanding of the challenges and management
- Awareness of web application development techniques and tools
- Experience of creating and maintaining technical solution documents
- Proactive and logical approach to fault identification, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ability to articulate IT issues to non-IT people
- Working knowledge of ITIL
- Certification or working experience across several the infrastructure technologies including: LAN, WAN, DNS & Wi-Fi, Server architecture, Storage solutions, Cloud computing platform, principals, and services, Perimeter Security, Microsoft & Linux Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL Server, VOIP & SIP, Telephony, Contact centres, Backup, Recovery & Replication, Virtualisation solutions, Office 365 Platform, Security Controls & Standards along with Cyber Security Awareness.
