Job Purpose
Reporting to the Group Head of Learning & Skills India, the role holder will play a critical role in delivering OSB Group’s Learning & Skill Strategy. The People Transformation & Skills team plays a pivotal role in delivering OSB Group’s priority to be “future -fit” for banking. OSB Group has embarked on significant technology Modernisation programme, which gives the organisation an exciting opportunity to transform it’s people eco-system. Modernisation will deliver significant automation opportunities and seamless end to end customer and colleague experi ences. The programme is delivering at pace, using agile practices giving the entire organisation an opportunity to optimise their ways o f working and approach to their own function’s skills to adapt for a modernised organisation. OSB Group has entered a maturing stage in its corporate lifecycle making it a prime moment to evolve its approach to the people and skills.
The People Transformation Tech & Insight Product Owner will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that le verage data analytics to inform and enhance decisions as OSB Group evolves its people eco-system. The role holder will be the data steward for all learning and skills data in the organisation and will also own the Learning technology experience for OSB Group including the Learning Management System and all associated learning licenses and authoring tools. The role holder will work with the Learning & Skills team providing meaningful insight that illustrates the engagement, impact and opportunities to improve across our learning portfolio , in particular illustrating the skills growth in OSB Group. The role holder will also work with the Learning Business Partners to provide business function learning insight to improve the learning culture in each area of the organisation. The role holder will work very closely with the People Operations function who own the HR systems and wider people data, particularly agreeing how learning and HR technologies integrate for an automated and smooth u ser experience across these technologies. The role holder will liaise with People Operations on the appropriate use of data to inform People Transformation change initiatives such as Target Operating Model reviews, Strategic Workforce Planning and building a Skills Based Organisat ion. The role holder will also be a key stakeholder to People Operations as they evolve their approach to performance and talent management which will have clear links back to learning insight.
The role holder will lead a discreet team based in the UK and India, and will be required to lead a Group approach to People Transformation and Learning insight.
2. Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people transformation and learning insights strategy ensuring the effective use of data to inform our approach to becoming a skills based organisation
- Own and run the Learning Management System (Cornerstone) and any other learning technologies, tools or software, ensuring opt imal colleague experience and driving impact towards our business goals
- Ensure OSB’s skills data and technology approach aligns to UK’s Financial Services Skills Commission standards and recommenda tions to help build a skills based organisation
- Oversee the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative learning data, identifying trends and patterns to inform strategic initiatives
- Partner with the wider People Function to help nurture a data driven culture in the function, making insight accessible and d igestible and supporting upskilling in the function
- Proactively engage within the People Function on how data and insight can strengthen our current service catalogue and shape people change initiatives
- Partner with People Operations to agree appropriate input and output of HR data for people change initiatives lead by People Transformation such as Target Operating Model review
- Support the learning and skills team to have a relentless focus on continuous improvement of the user experience during each touch point of the learning experience, optimising design and technology to create market leading learning experiences and drive impactful l earning outcomes, including optimising the LMS
- Take a ‘systems thinking’ to insight
- Ensure ethical use of data, maintaining high standards of data accuracy, security and compliance with relevant regulations. And adhere to the
Group’s Data Governance policies.
- Lead a tech and insight team using agile learning practices, providing management, leadership and coaching to nurture a high performing environment
- Ensure full visibility of the backlog, work in progress, flow and output of the work, escalating blockers and managing depend encies
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies within learning, to aid the continuous enhancement of the
Group’s people related practices
- Support the Group’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist in identifying and implementing related initiatives to create a truly inclusive and equitable work environment
- Ensure that you and your team fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do
3. Experience Requirements
- 5 years experience in people or learning analytics with proven track record of leveraging data to drive strategic decisions
- 5 years experience working with Learning Management Systems with a proven track record on optimising user experience to drive learning culture
- 5 years experience in analysing complex data sets and translating findings into actional insight
- 3 years experience in designing and deploying insight dashboards through PowerBI or similar tools
- Previous experience leading high performing teams across multiple locations
- Previous experience taking a product not project approach to the learning deliverables, driving optimisation and continuous improvement
- Previous experience delivering end to end projects or products from inception, design, deployment and improvement
- Familiarity with a skills based organisation approach (FSSC)
4. Knowledge Requirements
- Robust knowledge of data analysis tools and software such as SQL and PowerBI or equivalent
- Robust knowledge of data ethics and governance in a UK environment
- Robust knowledge industry tools, systems and methods to sustain a skills based organisation
- Robust knowledge of agile learning practices
5. Skill and Competency Requirements
- Exceptional communication skills are essential (verbal and written), with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Excellent design thinking and systems thinking capability
- Demonstrated agile project management skills are essential, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Demonstrated skills to analyse complex problems and deliver insightful, practical, and sustainable solutions
- Resilience and tenacity to lead through ambiguity and change with impact
- People leadership skills to develop and sustain a high performing team
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Intermediate skills in the use of, Word and PowerPoint
6. Required Qualifications/Certifications
- Graduate degree is essential.
- Data related bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
