NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Capital Finance Team Leader to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.

 

We are seeking an experienced Capital Finance Team Leader who will be responsible for leading the operational admin team to ensure the end-to-end transaction of all purchases and sales through the £135m capital fund are executed accurately and to implement, lead and continuously improve processes.

The successful candidate will offer support to the Administration Team and wider stakeholders. The team is responsible for processing invoices in order to replenish the fund to enable the trading team to negotiate further bulk deals. This role is also responsible for working closely with the Operations and Transport teams to manage capital stock at the Normanton Depot and to ensure seamless delivery to the end customer. 

Every day you will …

  • Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.
  • Help others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
  • Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
  • Organise and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. You will also be responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
  • Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organisation's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • At least three years of experience of managing and leading an administration team in a similar role.
  • The ability to resolve complex queries and escalate issues appropriately.
  • An understanding of capital finance, fund replenishment and transaction processing.
  • The ability to extract, combine and interpret financial data to generate reports.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
