THE ROLE
To manage and implement the migration of our existing VMWare estate to an Azure Local Server Infrastructure. This will include owning the Migration rollout plan and liaising with appropriate stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (RESPONSIBILITIES)
You will be responsible for migrating our existing VMWare server estate onto an Azure Local Infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders across the business incorporating the below activities:
- Conduct initial fact finding to understand server roles and key systems
- Create Rollout Plan for migration
- Coordinate with Change Approval to ensure migration tasks do not impact other services.
- Migrate existing VMWare Servers onto newly built Azure Local Infrastructure using Veeam
- Coordinate application downtime with relevant service owners and service managers.
- Decommission servers no longer required by the business
- Troubleshoot migration related issues in a timely manner
- Ensure all related documentation is updated when required
Assist with wider infrastructure team to support with BAU tasks when available.
WHO YOU ARE
- Previous experience working in a similar role/with similar technologies. (essential)
- Background in server/deskside support. (essential)
- Communications skills across all levels and experiences. (essential)
- Strong organisational skills. (essential)
- Methodical and logical way of working. (essential)
- Administrating VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization platform. (essential)
- Experience of Backup Solutions, i.e. Veeam, Cohesity (essential)
- Knowledge of IT service management processes (essential)
- Ability to manage documentation and change control processes (essential)
- Proven experience with Windows Server 2003 through 2022 and multiple Linux distros. (essential)
- Microsoft Certified. (desirable)
