Fabric Testing Assistant

Supporting the International standards manager in the delivery of an appropriate, efficient testing regime to ensure New Look products are safe, are meeting regulatory obligations in the markets in which they are traded, reducing risk, and promoting performance for customers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Works with nominated laboratories to reduce and manage testing queries 

• Collates and reviews laboratory performance  

• Collates and reviews testing prices annually 

• Drives suppliers towards testing as a compliance (Completeness, timeliness, pass test results) Promoting and supporting suppliers and technologists towards Self Approval status  

• Triages testing on behalf of technologists, with the support of the embedded lab support to address supplier testing record and allow technologists to focus on highlighted failure. Supporting the technologists.  

• Manages and promotes the accredited Mill Lab programme. Collating documentation and reviewing with International Standards Manager. 

• Reports on areas of risk for supplier KPI’s  

• Can identify and monitor cross department fabric programme performance  
• Supporting underperforming suppliers towards improvement (Red Amber Green Testing Lists)  

Who you are:

• A qualification and interest in fabric technology. (Performance rather than design)  

• Is familiar with testing methods and protocols (basic level, as this can be enhanced)  

• Experience of testing platforms would be a plus. Able to learns Data Link, the New Look /Intertek testing platform, becoming a Super-user and  able to train others.  

• Good with Excel and PowerPoint to help demonstrate outcomes and challenges. Able to spot patterns and risks in reporting.  

• A basic understanding of legal landscape and consequences regarding fibre composition, flammability etc  

• Communicates well, internally and externally  

• Early career experience in a buying office would be beneficial.  

• Minimum 2 years exposure to test reporting (Supplier, Lab or Buying)  

• Resilient, and not afraid to tackle challenges head on. Good problem solver.
