THE ROLE

We are looking for a Product Operations Lead. You will lead and enable our Product Operations team as they support our cross-functional product teams across our digital estate. You’ll partner with other functional leads, particularly the Tech Delivery Leadership, to help them use data, research, and exemplary people skills to allow New Look to deliver on its ambitious goals.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

  • Develop and coach our budding product operations team of two – ensuring they have clear paths for development and progression.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership, and the Tech Delivery Leadership to ensure we’re building teams the right way, so we’re set up for success as an organisation.
  • Be hands on in your approach to showing what good looks like  - demonstrating an agile mindset in how you approach problems.
  • Lead on bringing continuous improvement into the heart of New Look’s culture – working with each team based upon their needs to move through the stages of performance.
  • Help build an experimentation culture within our teams and wider business – working closely with data and research colleagues to understand the most important problems to solve and help test potential solutions.
  • Help your team take on responsibility for projects within product teams, especially when they might need collaboration and alignment from other teams.
  • Coordinate smooth product launches and releases, considering 2nd and 3rd order effects.
  • Own risks of decisions that team makes and how to mitigate them.
  • Conduct workshops on agile practices, tools, and techniques to build a strong understanding and capability within the organisation.

WHO YOU ARE

  • An expert in product discovery, agile methodologies (such as Scrum and Kanban) and an interest in behavioural psychology.
  • Expert in what it takes to build good products – proven experience as a Product Manager within a squad, as well as leading multiple teams towards a strategy or key goal
  • Able to bring clear success stories from previous experiences on what makes a good Product team, and the processes behind that
  • An excellent manager, known for being a servant leader due to your ability to inspire and empower colleagues. You give empathetic (but honest) feedback and teach others to do the same.
  • A “get stuff done” person with experience in operations, projects, or growth roles, keen to build high-performing teams (using agile methodologies/mindset).
  • Known as a generalist, able to learn quickly and collaborate openly by default.
  • Good with data and know how to turn it into insight to inform decision-making.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers to ascertain their pain points and understanding the difference between research and sales.
  • Not afraid to discuss technical concepts, enabling you to work closely with more technical colleagues to find the most appropriate solution, focusing on speed of delivery.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Able to simplify complex ideas and maximise business value.
  • Ability to create teams with a positive can-do attitude that celebrates successes and failures together.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. An expert in the power of Slack to drive asynchronous communication and culture change.
