Salary: circa £34,500 per annum negotiable depending on experience + fantastic benefits

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

About the role:

You will support and identify opportunities focused on raising the visibility and impact of the UK Data Service and its collection. You will also promote the use and impact of the data and resources especially to new audiences such as policymakers, government sectors, charities, the private sector and the media. 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support our overall stakeholder engagement activity which will enable us to tell a compelling story of the impact and value of our work   
  • Manage relationships with a range of partners, including funders; academic researchers at all levels from early career to professors; organisations in the charity, voluntary and social enterprise sector; and policymakers on behalf of the UK Data Service   
  • Assess evidence of the impact of complex research using data from the UK Data Service across a wide range of disciplines, and develop web-based case studies, communication materials and social media strategies/plans    
  • Work closely with the UK Data Service user support & training, and communications directorates to ensure a joined-up programme of activities  

 

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience of managing relationships with a range of stakeholders at different levels in one or more of higher education, the charity and voluntary sector and policymakers  
  • Proven experience of extended research into understanding a topic and its impact 
  • Knowledge of the impact agenda in one or more of these areas:  
    • Higher education   
    • The voluntary, charity and social enterprise (VCSE) sector  
    • National or local government  
  • Ability to work autonomously to produce high quality outputs to deadlines  
  • Ability to understand, identify the impact of, and present complex research in an accessible manner for a range of audiences  
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately in a variety of styles and for different audiences.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentational skills  

 

If you have any of the following

  • Some knowledge of HTML / CSS  
  • Video and/or audio editing skills.   
  • Understanding of web accessibility and usability issues.  

This would be advantageous

 

Qualifications

A degree OR relevant experience in an equivalent role  

 

It would be advantageous if you have a higher degree in a relevant subject
