Product Manager
Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Product Manager, specialising in MuleSoft, to drive integrations across our technology landscape, embracing our Service Oriented Architecture vision: MuleSoft is more than an integration tool, it is meant to abstract systems into consumable services. This product is a strategic enabler to our growth strategy.
This role serves as the face of the product, ensuring seamless coordination of multiple workstreams, maintaining clear documentation, and proactively addressing integration challenges. Operating within an agile Kanban framework, this position requires a balance of strategic thinking and technical aptitude to design robust, scalable systems.
This role would suit a developer looking to transition into a more strategic position, a business analyst stepping into product ownership, or a product manager with a strong focus on integrations and architecture. It requires a balance of technical understanding, stakeholder coordination, and agile leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Workstream Coordination: Oversee ongoing MuleSoft integration projects, ensuring alignment across teams.
- Documentation Ownership: Maintain detailed records covering integration requirements, implementation details, flow charts and usage guidelines.
- Agile Leadership: Drive Kanban-based processes, manage the backlog, lead regular review cycles and facilitate prioritization meetings.
- Product Oversight: Collaborate with the software architect, identifying exceptions early to design resilient solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with developers, product managers, account managers, and external partners.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the primary contact for light support, ensuring smooth functionality post-deployment.
- Regulatory & Commercial Context: Support integrations related to compliance (e.g., EUDR) as well as e-commerce and logistics activities.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills: The role requires clear and precise communication across multiple contexts.
- Guiding developers effectively in stand-ups and through well-structured requirements documentation ensures smooth execution.
- Strong writing skills are essential for maintaining integration records that third parties can rely on.
- Demonstable ability to articulate technical processes in an accessible way for product managers and non-technical stakeholders ensures alignment and clarity across teams.
- Product & Business Acumen: Ability to align integrations with business strategy and commercial objectives.
- Technical Aptitude: Understanding of API interactions, including tools like Postman, without requiring hands-on coding.
- Agile Mastery: Strong experience managing backlogs and keeping comprehensive integration records.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate integration impacts across systems and prevent potential exceptions.
- Growth Potential: Interest in progressing into senior product management roles, overseeing multiple products.
