Key Responsibilities
- Support for the monthly financial closing processes and preparation and review of monthly/periodic management reports for Singapore and Malaysia within the required timelines: -
- Ensure reconciliations and analysis has been completed
- Working with both internal finance teams and internal account management teams to understand and resolve variances
- Monthly calculation and reporting of KPI’s and other reports with commentary
- Work with finance staff in our Shared Service Centre to ensure all financial transactions are recorded systematically and accurately. These include transactions such as sales, purchases, payments and receipts
- Given the large volume of transactions within our business, from time to time this role will mean booking of overhead and supplier invoices into the ledger, but most of the entries will be completed within our Shared Service Centre
- Review staff claims in line with company’s policy and book the expenses into ledger
- Perform cross charge allocation accounting and issuance of monthly intercompany invoices to counterparty
- Booking of intercompany invoices received from counterparty into ledger
- Prepare and maintain intercompany schedule and liaise with counterparty to reconcile intercompany transactions are recorded and properly maintained
- Prepare bi-weekly payment schedule and liaise with Shared Service Centre to setup the payment in HSBCnet
- Prepare journal entries for monthly financial closing, accruals and variances for posting to the ledger
- Maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions has appropriately classified and posted to the correct accounts
- Prepare quarterly GST return for Singapore and bi-monthly SST return for Malaysia
- Responsible for the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account fluctuations analysis, following up closely to close outstanding matters
- Assist in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Prepare and submit government statistic board surveys
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
- Responsible in ensuring that all business finance procedures & processes are followed: -
- Responsible to ensure accurate transactions recording
- Compliance with statutory requirements, including liaise with external auditors for year-end statutory reporting and tax agents for tax computation for annual filings
- Prepare weekly cash flow reporting and responsible for monitoring bank accounts and managing cash flow, including bank reconciliation
- Review and monitor credit control
- Review and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, including assist in customers and suppliers’ queries
- Perform payroll transactions for staff members and ensure payroll issues and related returns processes are completed in a timely fashion
- Review and formation of accounting procedures
- Advising the business on processes affecting finance and assisting in monitoring and enforcing compliance
- Providing advice and support for staff throughout the HH Group more broadly as and when required to ensure proper internal controls are in place and being complied with
- Supporting management in adhering to statutory requirements
- Assist with any other ad hoc requests and working on ad hoc projects as and when required
