Lead Technical Architect – Integration and Solution Delivery

We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist technical consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems. Due to some exciting growth within our Central Government business, we are interested in speaking with an experienced Technical Architect.

 

 

Role Location:

 

You can work from any of our 6 offices in the UK (including Bristol, Cheltenham & London) or from home, you decide. The role will however require you make regular visits to sites based in Farnborough, Winchester or London 1-2 days per week.

 

About the Role: 

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead Technical Architect with expertise in systems delivery assurance and integration architectures to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing the delivery of solutions for large-scale mission-critical systems to meet business user/customer expectations. You will have demonstrable expert-level architecture and technical leadership experience, including deep knowledge of application and integration architectures. You will define and communicate architectures, provide client-facing strategic and technical direction and perform strong and detailed assurance of supplier solution deliveries.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to client technical teams, guiding them through complex technical challenges and architectural decisions. 
  • Develop solutions that conform to organisational standards, principles, strategies, and technical and commercial constraints.
  • Understand business customer demands and requirements, and ensure alignment to system supplier deliveries.
  • Evaluate and provide technical assurance for supplier solutions.
  • Apply assurance and governance to supplier deliveries to meet desired business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for client systems.
  • Oversee the capture of requirements and provide technical input to procurements and tenders.
  • Work closely with project management and commercial teams to ensure delivery alignment and commercial compliance.
  • Contribute to technical design authorities communicating ideas and seeking consensus. 
  • Perform a Systems Integration role, ensuring supplier solutions and deliveries align. 
  • Ensure solution compliance with security and governance standards and frameworks.
  • Work with client and supplier quality and test organisations to ensure adequate quality in delivery of complex solutions.
  • Ensure that architectures are compliant with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and company security policies, and ensure appropriate security controls are implemented across all solutions.
  • Work closely with client and supplier teams, and stakeholders to ensure that architectural strategies align with both technical and business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks in supplier solutions and deliveries to meet stakeholder objectives.
  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, design patterns, and documentation, ensuring a shared understanding of technical solutions. Capturing/documenting architectural decisions.

 

The Fit:

We are looking for someone with experience of senior technical leadership, including defining architectures and being responsible for the technical success of large-scale mission-critical systems. In addition, you will:

  • Have expert level experience of application and integration architectures.
  • Extensive experience of systems integration and working with large IT Services organisations.
  • Experience of secure solutions delivery.
  • Experience of working with architecture methods, tools and frameworks.
  • Experience defining technology roadmaps, technology transformation strategies and transitional architectures.
  • Project management aspects, particularly for planning, and risk and dependency management.
  • Ability to create, document and communicate architectural, strategic and solution delivery aspects

 

Due to the industries we work in, we require the successful candidate to be able to obtain high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
